A recent study highlights the increasing adoption of voice search for finding local business information. Uberall, a location marketing technology company, conducted a survey of 1,000 consumers to better understand their use of voice search.
### How often do people use voice search?
The study reveals that 21% of participants use voice search on a weekly basis:
– 11% of people use voice search at least once a week
– 9.8% of people use voice search daily
However, a larger group, about 57%, have never used voice search. These results indicate that people tend to either use voice search frequently or not at all.
### Why do some people not use voice search?
When asked about their reasons for not using voice search, respondents mentioned a lack of familiarity (23.2%), perceived inefficiency (19.7%), or the belief that it is not accurate enough (13.5%).
Despite this, many recognize the potential of voice search, with nearly 60% believing it will be important in the future, compared to 27% who think it won’t be significant.
### Where are people using voice search?
Frequent users of voice search typically use it at home (37%), in the car (34%), or while walking (11%). The study indicates that searching for local business information is a common application of voice search. According to the responses, 48% use voice search to find business information at least occasionally.
Businesses can capitalize on this trend by offering deals, sales, or promotions linked to voice search, which could help them gain a competitive edge.
